LIKA CLOTHING
LIKA was founded in 2022 by Alika Steyn, out of a problem she couldn’t shop her way out of.
She had loved fashion since she was young, and she wasn’t short on options — no one is, anymore. What she couldn’t find was a dress that actually fit her, that worked as hard as her day did, that she could put on without a plan. Something that took her from a 9am meeting to dinner without a change of clothes, or a change of mind.
So she started making it herself.
That dress — considered, clean, quietly confident — became the blueprint for LIKA. Not a brand chasing trends, but one solving a much older problem: that having endless choices isn’t the same as having the right thing. We design fewer pieces, and we design them properly — for fit first, for versatility always, for the version of a woman’s life that doesn’t stop to get dressed twice.
Every LIKA piece is made in small runs, manufactured locally in South Africa, so we can stay close to the fit, the fabric, and the makers who bring it to life. It’s slower. It’s more hands-on. It’s also the only way we know to get the fit right — not roughly right, but the kind of right that means you reach for it without thinking.

Founded in 2022 by Alika Steyn, LIKA was created from a desire to offer a more considered approach to modern dressing.
As someone who has loved fashion from a young age, I was always searching for clothing that felt contemporary, beautifully made, and effortless to wear. While there was no shortage of trends, I found it difficult to find versatile pieces with exceptional fit, enduring quality, and timeless appeal. I wanted to create the pieces I was searching for myself.
LIKA exists to help women build wardrobes with intention. We believe that getting dressed should feel effortless, and that the right piece can inspire confidence, ease, and self-expression. Rather than following fast-moving trends, we focus on creating modern classics designed to be worn repeatedly, styled in different ways, and loved for years.
Every LIKA garment is designed with versatility in mind. Our collections are built around thoughtful silhouettes, refined simplicity, and practical elegance for modern women navigating work, travel, family, creativity, and everyday life.
We produce in small quantities because we believe in creating responsibly. By making limited runs, we reduce unnecessary waste, avoid overproduction, and ensure that every piece receives the attention to detail it deserves. This slower, more intentional approach allows us to focus on quality rather than volume.
We proudly manufacture locally in South Africa. Producing close to home allows us to maintain high standards of craftsmanship, work closely with our makers, and support local skills and industry. It also enables us to create more thoughtfully, reducing excess inventory while contributing to the growth of our local economy.
