The Value of Intentionality: Why LIKA Costs More
At LIKA, we don’t create disposable fashion. We create pieces you will return to, season after season.
We often talk about sophisticated simplicity, but that ease of wear is the result of a very rigorous, high-cost
process. Our pieces are an investment—and intentionally so. Here is why that matters for your wardrobe and
our industry.
Premium Foundations
Quality begins at the fiber level. We work with premium, exceptionally soft fabrics, many of which are finished
and dyed in Spain for superior longevity. Where possible, we also source locally finished South African textiles
to support our domestic industry and reduce our carbon footprint.
Beauty in the Details
Every LIKA garment is fully lined and thoughtfully constructed. We believe that how a dress feels against your
skin on the inside matters just as much as how it looks on the outside. This commitment to tailored simplicity
ensures that our garments hold their shape and structure for years, not months.
Ethically Made in Johannesburg
Our pieces are ethically manufactured in Johannesburg, South Africa, by a factory that operates in full
alignment with national labor laws. We pay living wages and maintain close, transparent relationships with our
production team. When you buy LIKA, you are directly supporting fair labor and South African craftsmanship.
A Localized Supply Chain
Our process is intentionally intimate:
• Design: Pretoria
• Production: Johannesburg
• Distribution: Our at-home studio in Pretoria
This slower, considered approach allows us to prioritize ethics over mass production. It costs more to produce
this way, but it ensures that every stitch is an act of intention.
Invest in pieces that work as hard as you do.
